The Molchenskaya Icon
Busynovo, Russia (17th c.)
In the 17th Century, a blind maiden lived in the village of Busynovo, in a house on the right bank of Busynka River.
It happened that in a dream, the Mother of God appeared to her and told her to go with her mother to the river. The next day, following the instructions of the Mother of God, the girl went there and washed her eyes and received her sight.
The next day, the Mother of God again appeared to the maiden and showed her where the miraculous icon of the Mother of God was to be excavated.
Soon, a chapel was erected on the site and a well was dug where the lame, crippled, and sick would come for healing from all over Russia.
