Our Lady of the little Bridge
San Marino di Carpi, Italy (16th c.)
The image of the Madonna and Child named after the town river is a fresco dating from the sixteenth century attributed to Loschi Bernardino. In the beginning of the seventeenth century, the church containing the fresco of the Madonna of Bridges was accessed via two lateral stairways.
In May 2005, two works were added from the painter Alberto Carpi Rustichelli illustrating scenes of the miracle of Ponticelli. It was elevated to the title of diocesan shrine in 1935.
