Our Lady of Monte Berico

Vicenza, Italy (1426)

In March 7, 1426, the Blessed Virgin appeared  in Monte Berico, to an  elderly 70 year old woman,  Vincenza Pasini in the fields. IShe said, “I ask you to build  a church here in my honor. If  they do, the plague will stop, otherwise the destruction  will continue.”

But neither the bishop nor the priests believed her and the plague continued.

The Virgin  appeared again on August 1 and after a healing spring was found in that place according to her promise, on August 25, 1428 the bishop climbed Mount Berico to start the construction of the church.

The plague ceased, and the Bishop recognized  the apparitions as authentic. After a century, the source was exhausted, but in 1955, during excavations for the new convent, a spring of water was found.
