Our Lady of Abarca

Tauste, Spain (1569)  

 

At the church Mudejar Santa Maria, located on a hill at the top of the village, overlooking the mouth of the Ebro River in Arba from the fourteenth century celebrates from April 20th to 24th feasts held in honor  of the Virgin of Sancho Abarca, whose feast day is the 21st

The day commemorates the appearance of the holy image of Our Lady of  Sancho Abarca on April 7th, 1569.

One hundred years later, the statue was canonically crowned.  

In 2007, the church building was renovated and  altarpiece of the Coronation of Mary was restored.
