Holy Mary of the Walnut
Rieti, Italy (1505)
A young man prayed fervently to the Blessed Virgin Mary for the healing of his brother who was very sick. On June 15, 1505, Mary appeared to him and promised him that his brother would be cured. In fact, shortly after it happened, in gratitude he erected a church and a statue of Our Lady of Grace was placed inside. In 1690, the coronation of the statue was celebrated. The Sanctuary of the Madonna di Tirano remains in this town even today.
