Our Lady of Sichem

The shrine in Brabant in the duchy of Louvain, is a replacement of the one below Mount Garizim, Israel.

On several occasions the Christians who settled there suffered greatly at the hands of the Samaritans.

In 474 the emperor gave Mount Garizim to the Christians, who built on it a church dedicated to the Blessed Virgin.

The ancient statue of Our Lady of Sichem, or Our Lady of ‘Montaigu’, which is the title more commonly used today, has been venerated in Belgium from very early times.

Our foundation has the objective to develop, expand and maintain the Marypages website to promote the Roman Catholic belief and especially the Devotion of Our Blessed Mother, Mary. Every donation, no matter how small, is welcome, but with a donation of € 50,- or more, we will send you, in addition to the miraculous medal, a beautiful transparent pearl or a black/blue pearl rosary from Lourdes. The choice is yours. This rosary contains a drop of holy water from the source in Lourdes (shipment of the rosary together with the medal all over the world). Both are blessed.
