Our Lady of Good Cousel
Genazzano, Italy (1467)
On April 25, 1467 at about 4 pm in Genezzano, a most pleasant melody began to resound from heaven. The townspeople started to look for the source of the music when, above the roofs and towers of the churches, a small illuminated white cloud descended to the church of the Mother of Good Counsel. Within seconds the chapel was full of people who, astonished, came to admire the heavenly phenomenon. The little cloud was dissipated, revealing a beautiful painting of Our Lady and her Divine Son.
The image was crowned as "Our Lady of Good Counsel” in 1682 in the Vatican Basilica. Pope Leo XIII gave special meaning by adding it to the Litany of the Virgin Mary.
Her feast is celebrated on April 26th.
