Immaculate Conception

Marpingen, Germany (1876)

In 1876 the Virgin Mary appeared in Marpingen with a message of prayer and turning away from sin.

On July 3, 1876, one day after the coronation  in Lourdes image of the Immaculate Conception,  the Virgin Mary appeared to three children on the top of a tree. Three days later, five adults also saw her. A  healing spring was found in the forest with miraculous  curative powers. The Virgin identified herself as the  Immaculate Conception and urged them to pray with faith and turn from sin.

These facts were published in newspapers all over  Germany and caused a massive influx of pilgrims  which greatly worried the Prussian Parliament who  imprisoned the children.
